EXODUS // 4 Month Butoh Course

The renowned duo MUTSUMINEIRO will host a 4-month Butoh workshop series in Oslo from March to June, with a 2-day workshop each month! Rather than letting it remain a one-time experience, by repeatedly throwing oneself again and again into the unknown, you may begin to discover the signs of a dance that only you can dance. You can register for each workshop separately, but we recommend joining the full series to deepen your practice. Titled EXODUS, the workshop does not promise arrival, but constant departure—toward the unknown. The “EXODUS” Butoh Laboratory is not designed to teach technique or reproduce form; it is a process of unlearning, confronting, and revealing. Participants are invited to experience dance as a condition of being. You will not leave with choreography or repertoire, but with a deepened sense of body, space, and the mystery of being alive. It is a meeting with dance as life, and life as a continuous, open-ended exodus. Do not get caught in the need to define it—let it dance. The dancer is the dance; the dance is the dancer. Your whole life is your dance—an exploration harboring extravagant possibilities. Open to everyone, the workshop asks for sincere engagement. Each day includes solo and group explorations, guided improvisation, and silent observation. Mutsumi and Neiro studied with Yoshito Ohno, present even before the name “Butoh” was given.
